Michael Gottlieb Birckner Bindesbøll (1800-1856) is today still one of the most important figures in Danish architectural history and one of the most internationally famous Danish architects from the 19th century. As a front figure in the transition from classicism to historicism as well as a sober approach that anticipates the more pragmatic view of architecture in the 20th century, the architect's works span a range of styles. The book is filled with new photographic recordings by the internationally renowned architect Jens Lindhe.
