About Hans J. Wegner's Papa Bear Chair:
Hans J. Wegner designed the Papa Bear Chair in 1951, and was originally produced by the AP Chair, but in 2003 PP furniture took over the full production of the Papa Bear Chair. Wegner designed the Papa Bear Chair as a more modern alternative to the well-known Earflap Chair, which many furniture architects had already bid on. It must be said that Wegner's Papa Bear Chair was somewhat different compared to the other Earflap Chairs at the time. The chair originally got its name from a journalist who thought it was an appropriate name.
The Papa Bear Chair is designed so that it is possible to have many different seating positions without compromising on seating comfort. E.g. there is air under the armrests so the movement is not restricted.
The Papa Bear Chair is made of a strong wooden frame, which is upholstered with fabric or leather. Typically, the Papa Bear Chair is upholstered with Hallingdal fabric as it is incredibly durable. The chair also has nails that you can get in different types of wood.
