About Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona chair:
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is the genius behind the Barcelona chair, which he designed in 1920. The chair really got air under its wings when in 1929 it was exhibited at the world exhibition in Barcelona in 1929, where it also has its name from. Van der Rohe was one of the leading architects in the 1920s, where he was also very successful in designing houses, yet it was still the Barcelona chair most people know him for. Ludwig was both an architect and a furniture designer.
The Barcelona chair has a chromed steel frame, which is fitted with a core made of core leather, and cushions made of leather, which are bored sewn with buttons.
